That’s Right folks. Nate “That dude with the epic mustache” Perkins has written an awe inspiring article for SLUG magazine about the darker/crazy side of scooter culture, and The Bees along with many other clubs are featured inside of it!
This article shows the harsh side of the Utah scootering scene and in my opinion, captures alot of what the scooter scene has to offer. It’s not all about beer and skinheads. It’s about the love of scooters!
A quote from the Article:
I’m riding through American Fork Canyon as part of an event hosted by the Brigham’s Bees Scooter Club—Utah’s most active scooter club. It’s a chaotic collective of scooter enthusiasts who get together every two weeks or so for rides and barbeques.
Not only do they do local rides around Utah Valley and Salt Lake City, but in recent months they’ve participated in rides as far south as Moab and as far north as Antelope Island. Although occasionally known for their out-of-hand partying, the Brigham’s Bees work to maintain a reputation as the friendly, harmless scooter club in Utah. But the striking sight of twenty scooters howling down the road makes quite an impression.

Provophenia 2009 brought all scooterists to a really cool area which is unexplored by most. A dusty road, a mainly dried up beach, and a place where you can cause havoc. So I figured, why not make it a ride?
September 4th, we will be leaving from the coolest gas station known to man (Crest Gas Station) to Lincoln Beach to ride around and enjoy the weather as it starts to cool. Afterwards, we will make a stop at a burger joint of some sort for dinner.

This year, the Last Days of Summer rally is expected to be extremely better than the last! And you can make it that much betterby attending! And if you think that the rally weekend is just too much, well I have some awesome news…
There will be free, YES FREE accommodations for all BBSC members! And not at some stuffy lame hotel, at THE SCOOTER BROTHEL! I, Sean, am now living in Salt Lake. Which means you can park your scooter, hang out, get food, and have a place to sleep all weekend. I’ll even be cooking breakfast every morning!
To register for the rally, simply go to http://www.scootlds.com and get a cool shirt while you are at it!
Please make an effort to come! We will be embarking Friday at around 7PM to travel up to SLC and have a great time that entire weekend. If you wish to work out a time to ride up Saturday, please email me! (Sean [at] brig hams bees *dot* com) See you all there!

Spanish Fork… My old hometown has some serious treasures in there and I’m determined to show the bees all of them in a single AWESOME ride!
Leaving from the most awesome crest gas station in Provo, we will be embarking to Spanish Fork for a cool ride south to our first checkpoint. A super cool Brigham’s Bees BBQ! And the best part? The bees will be sponsoring the food!
After the eating is done, we will take an awesome route around Spanish Fork. Checking out all the cool sites that the city has to offer.
This is another awesome ride that you won’t want to miss!

Heber. Every time I go on that ride, im always at peace with myself and my scooter. There is nothing better that can center ones soul than that ride.
The club met at the coolest gas station on earth: Crest gas station in Provo. As we gathered, one scooterist had alreadyhad quite an adventure getting there! Being one of the coolest bees, Nick Passey was stung by an actual bee! (they are jealous that we are cooler than them.) After pulling out the stinger like a man, the bee set off to Heber. The ride was a bit warm, but cool spots in the canyon made for a soothing experience. We all had a great time going fast (and slow) through the tunnel, around corners, and over crazy awesome scenery.
As we landed in Heber, we were met with a warm summer glow and a small city that was one of very few true american cities. We parked at the Dairy Keen and munched down on some ol’ fashioned burgers and chatted about recent scooter events. As we laughed and shared stories, you could feel the friendships form and grow. As we left Heber, northern bees set out over guardsman pass while the rest went on their way back through Provo canyon. A ride that is always a favorite to all bees!

Hey all! Sean here, and I’ve been pretty busy with moving, so this post is a little late! No images or cool graphics even! So I need your help in promoting this ride so everyone knows about it.
Last years ride to Heber was very special to me. It was the first time that we had a group of riders that was the size of a scooter rally to ride together to the Dairy Keen. Though we had a few break downs, and the group split in half when we left the restaurant, it was the highlight of all the rides I’ve ever been on.
This year, we are taking the same route to the Dairy Keen in Heber. And you can be assured that no matter how many show up, you will have a smile on your face the entire time riding. See you there!

The next ride is scheduled for this Saturday, the 26th. And with the last event canceled due to terrible weather, the bees have some making up to do! This time, we have been invited by the Cedar Hills Parade crew to participate in their parade!
We will have leg shield banners for our scooters to look as cool as we can for the parade, so get shine up those scooters, because people will LOVE them! Click here to view the legshield banner here. We will also have some flyers to hand out if anyone is interested in the club. Afterwards, we will take a ride up to Squaw Peak, take in the sun, and the view. And for a grand finale, we will have a barbecue and some swimming! Make sure to bring a swimming suit and a towel!
So make sure to get some sleep Friday night and set those alarms early on Saturday, because we will be leaving from the Provo Crest Gas Station at 8:15 AM to get there. Be at the gas station at 8:00AM because the parade isn’t going to wait up for us! Shine up your scoots, because I’m sure we will be the talk of the parade!
